This research and development project is expected to bring together all the technological innovations available in the field of environmental information and the acquisition of environmental data through a system that can transform the knowledge of a given environment into management information and decision-making regarding the use of the waters of a certain reservoir in which the possibility of the conflict over the use of water is characterized by the confrontation between the various possible uses of its waters.
This project is based on two fundamental pillars: mathematical monitoring and modeling. Monitoring will provide information for water quantity and water status assessment, and the modeling will allow for an explanation of the data obtained and predictions of its evolution according to management practices.
Together, monitoring and modeling will allow the identification and quantification of the biogeochemical processes involved in the water dynamics at basin scale and generate knowledge that can be applied to other basins and reservoirs.
