Lígia Pinto

PhD in Civil Engineering in the area of Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment – Universidade de Coimbra, 2010

Skills:

Hydrodynamic, water quality and sediment transport modeling of estuarine systems and coastal areas.

Numerical modelling, operational modelling, morphodynamic modelling.

Application experience of several 2D and 3D hydrodynamic models (MOHID, SELFE, ELCIRC, ADCIRC and HAMSON), sediment transport models (SELFE and MOHID) and wave models (FUNWAVE, WWIII).

Data processing and analysis of tide, currents, water temperature, salinity and sediments.

Programming languages: FORTRAN and MATLAB.

Some work done:

  • Hydrodynamic and water quality modelling of coastal waters and estuaries.
  • Development of 3D morphodynamic model (MORSELFE).
  • Development of tools for the analysis and interpretation of model results.
